August Updates and Renewed Vigilance

Appreciating You
Thank you for your commitment to the arts during the pandemic. You’ve helped our team at Lansing Art Gallery & Education Center increase artwork sales with our new online art gallery, and safe visits to our indoor gallery spaces. Together, we’ve re- envisioned arts access with outdoor Pop Up art events, ArtPath artist talks, and now family-friendly ArtVentures. I’m immensely grateful for your feedback, engagement, and participation.
Updates and Renewed Vigilance
Recent announcements from the CDC, Michigan State University, and the City of Lansing require masks indoors, regardless of vaccination status. With recognition of the Delta variant as a hyper-contagious variant and in light of these new updates, we’ll also be requiring masks again for on-site visitors starting on Thursday, August 12, 2021.
Visiting the Gallery
As a reminder, we are now open to the public on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. (with the exception of holiday weekends). No appointment is needed, but we’ll ask that you mask before you enter for the immediate future. Stay tuned for other updates via social media and email, or feel free to email or call me directly: barb@lansingartgallery.org or (517) 883-1435.
Safe Arts Experiences
Thank you in advance for your understanding and patience with our organization as we continue to survey external factors and make complicated decisions for the welfare of our team and our community. Although we had high hopes for potentially hosting hybrid indoor/outdoor events this fall, providing on-site safe experiences for guests and visitors is complex during this extended global pandemic.
Continually Innovating for Arts Access
We’ll continue ramping up access in September with a virtual artist’s talk, outdoor Pop Up art on our sidewalk, and our annual Michigan Made | Holiday Art Exhibition in November and December. No matter what the status of the pandemic, know that we’re continually innovating to provide safe, accessible arts experiences online, outdoors, and within the Gallery walls.
With gratitude,

Barb Whitney
Executive Director
We are ever-striving toward our mission: to provide public awareness, education and enjoyment of the visual arts by promoting the works of Michigan artists.
