Selma Hollander: The Collected Works
Artist Selma Hollander, formerly of Brooklyn New York, now a Michigan resident will exhibit her collection of screen prints for a 3-day engagement at the Lansing Art Gallery and Educational Center.

Hollander received her BFA and MFA from Michigan State University in the 1960s. The screen prints that will be on exhibit, showcase Hollander’s talent as a colorist. Hollander’s work explores layers, rich lines and texture that harken back to her experience as a weaver. Conversely, bold shapes and vivid color are reminiscent of modern art and hint at the Cut-Outs of Henri Matisse from the 1940s.

The exhibition will be on view from June 29 – July 2, 2017.

The reception will take place on Thursday, June 29, 6 PM – 8 PM.

This exhibition is sponsored by Jack & Sue Davis.

Additional support by Jerry and Joan Mattson and Hude Law Service, PLLC.
