Lansing Art Gallery provides Art in Action
in Lansing Public Schools through the City of Lansing Arts & Cultural Grant Program
Lansing students benefit from Lansing Art Gallery’s Art in Action program. A FREE art-based learning experience, Art in Action engages youth to be imaginative, creative and confident. Art in Action focuses on visual arts education and appreciation.
Art in Action includes three after-school sessions of art classes, a docent-guided tour of Lansing Art Gallery, and a student Art Exhibit to students at the following Lansing schools: Bingham, Capital Area Academy, Forest View, and Wexford.
Students enrolled in Art in Action learn the characteristics of visual arts by using a wide range of subject matter and media to express their ideas, emotions and knowledge. A docent-guided tour of professional artwork allows students the opportunity for experience-based learning. Students, families and friends benefit from Lansing Art Gallery’s exhibit and showcase of student artwork, engaging the community as a whole.
A community reception for the student exhibit, FREE of charge, will be held on Sunday, March 20, from 2-4 PM.
Lansing Art Gallery’s Art in Action program is provided with the support of the City of Lansing Arts & Cultural Grant Program funded through the Economic Development Corporation with help from the Arts Council of Greater Lansing, Inc.
