Mezzanine Gallery: “Line in Motion”
Recent drawings and sculpture by Norma Penchansky-Glasser

Norma’s artwork is derived from figures in motion. Her drawings and sculptures capture the essence of movement, representing the concept of Line in Motion. Norma takes inspiration from the “transitory moments” within the rehearsal and performance of dance. She is inspired to “freeze a moment, capture the stress, strain and relaxation.” Her reputation precedes her: Norma’s work is extensively exhibited and recognized nationally. During the months of November and December, Lansing Art Gallery will show Norma’s recent selections of drawings and sculpture.

Main Gallery • 4 Seasons
Represented artists:
Cathy Barry • Barbara Bushey • Deborah Campbell • Sharon Fay • Angelis Jackowski • Anne Kirby Rubin • Catherine Shinnick • Kristine Stewart • Nora Venturelli •Nancy Wolfe • Amy Yamasaki

Representing personal reflections on the passing of time, the 4 Seasons exhibit showcases the works of women artists, all alumni of Eastern Michigan University. The collaborative exhibit brings together the individual works by each artist, which were created through a residency at the Parson’s House for Art and Science. The exhibit showcases a variety of media, including: textiles, paintings, sculpture, watercolor, mixed media, photography, and video. The works feature individual responses to the environment and the changing seasons.
