Saturday, June 4, 2011
Lansing Art Gallery
Lansing Art Gallery will provide an interactive activity for children during Be A Tourist in your Own Town. The Gallery welcomes children of all ages to a FREE interactive arts experience designed by exhibiting artist, Kate Cosgrove.
Kate Cosgrove, considers it a “serious mission to spread some joy with the work” she creates. Kate’s current exhibit, ArtVenture, exposes young people to her illustrations. She states, “I was born into a family where everyone makes something: art, music, food, clothing, noise, a mess... In her exhibit, she thrives on the opportunity to show an exhibit of whimsical illustrations and is hoping to “pay-forward” the inspiration she received as a young artist.
Kate is an illustrator and fine artist from Michigan. She received a bachelor’s of fine art, with honors, from Michigan State University. Kate’s illustrations have been published in books, magazines, newspapers, and exhibited in galleries and art shows. Kate’s fans range across the United States, as well as internationally. Kate was awarded a grant from the Arts Council of Greater Lansing to help support the project. Animal ArtVenture continues through June 23, 2011.
